Shaheen Bagh – A protest that inspired a nation

As the world and India battles with the Covid19 epidemic, Shaheen Bagh will always remain as a reminder of the endurance of the human spirit.

Shaheen Bagh was an idea that inspired a nation. An idea of inclusion and love that chose to fight for and reclaim lost spaces. It was a wake up call that brought people together; it created hope where it did not exist before. The Shaheen Bagh sit-in protest led by Muslim women reaffirmed that the people of India understand their Constitutional rights and can will fight not only for themselves but for others too. Shaheen Bagh has shown us a people’s democracy in action.

Shaheen Bagh will live forever.
