The Forgotten Lessons Of Maulana Abul Kalam AzadĀ

“Today, if an angel were to descend from heaven and declare from the top of the Qutub Minar that India will get Swaraj within 24 hours, provided India relinquishes Hindu-Muslim unity. I will relinquish Swaraj rather than give up Hindu-Muslim unity because delay in attainment of Swaraj would be a huge loss to India but loss of our Hindu-Muslim unity would be a loss for the entire mankind.”

These are the powerful words from a speech by one of India’s greatest freedom fighters and first education minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in 1923.

As we celebrate his birthday as national education day, let us look at a few of the lessons he taught us, that we seem to have forgotten today.
