#DelhiViolence2020 | People Who Had Gone To File FIRs Have Been Arrested Instead

“When Ragini Tiwari was giving an open call to kill all Muslims, on the same street, Gulfisha Fatima was teaching the kids about the Indian Constitution. When Kapil Mishra was giving an ultimatum to the protestors, Umar Khalid was asking people to protest peacefully. When Anurag Thakur was sloganeering ‘Shoot these bastards’, Khalid Saifi was reading the Preamble Of the Constitution.” Watch Nadeem Khan of United Against Hate, shatter the conspiracy built by the state, on the basis of which several students, activists and victims have been imprisoned today.

Since December 2019, protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) had been growing stronger across the country. On 24 February 2020, violence erupted in different parts of North East Delhi as mobs of Hindu nationalist men attacked Muslim neighbourhoods. For over 2 days and nights, violence and arson continued with no intervention from Delhi Police.
